Angels on the Margins

Torah is full of quick glimpses of angels playing pivotal roles in key stories, then disappearing. They hover in our siddur and populate our Midrash. We will look at some examples of familiar and unfamiliar Jewish texts and begin to explore the role of angels. Why are they in the stories? What do they say about how we imagine God? Are they meant symbolically – or might they be there because they are there?
