In this session we will look at the many perspectives on what constitutes a Jewish Film Festival. Sources will refer to discussions on “who is a Jew” and contemporary discourse on Jewish identity. Within this framework we will explore methodologies for defining a Jewish filmmaker and a Jewish film as the building blocks for a broader discussion about what constitutes a Jewish Film Festival. What does and does not belong in a Jewish Film Festival?
