Rabbi Hugh Seid-Valencia spent ten years teaching Jewish Studies at Kehillah Jewish High School in Palo Alto, where he served most recently as Director of Israel and Jewish Studies Curricula. After studying at Deep Springs College, he earned a B.A. with Highest Honors in English Literature from UC Berkeley and received his rabbinical ordination from the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College. He served as the Jewish Advisor at Swarthmore College, trained as a chaplain, and taught for several years at Berkeley Midrasha. He currently serves as Jewish Community Liaison for VITAS Healthcare. He is married to Tricia Creason-Valencia, a documentary filmmaker. They have two children, Dahlia and Elijah. Hugh enjoys yoga, gardening and walking with his field spaniel Jadey.
