Abraham Sofaer is an attorney and scholar. He has had a career in both the public and private sectors in law. In the process, he became interested in the coinage of the Holy Land, and in particular in coinage issued by prior governments under Jewish control. Mr. Sofaer spent over 35 years collecting such coins, which now have all been gifted by him and his wife to the Israel Museum and the American Numismatic Society.
